Marlene Braga has recently
joined the company as Director, Programming and Production, for THE HISTORY
CHANNEL EN ESPAŅOL, where she will be responsible for programming,
production, and related areas. Marlene brings to the job an impressive
background in journalism and production (both television and print). Most
recently, Braga was a field producer for ABC News, and produced segments for
the nationally syndicated English-language newsmagazine program Hispanics
Today. Her other recent accomplishments include story development for PBS's
Emmy Award-winning national arts program EGG the arts show, and production
for Bill Moyers with Public Affairs Television. Fluent in both Spanish and
English, Braga has also been published in such popular national magazines as
Latina magazine, and has assisted in preparing materials for an
international human rights organizations, the International Center for
Transitional Justice (ICTJ). She is accomplished in both video editing and
as a print producer. Prior to moving into television journalism, she was
print producer for major companies such as Conde Nast Publications, Donna
Karan, Pixar Animation Studios and the Gap. Braga was born in Miami to a
Cuban family and was raised in the United States. She received her master's
degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where she
received the George M. Patterson award for outstanding achievement in
documentary. She graduated from the George Washington University with a
degree in political science. Marlene is vice president of the board for
Strike Anywhere, a Manhattan-based improvisational theater group. THE
HISTORY CHANNEL EN ESPAŅOL is a 24/7 network that features Spanish language
programming of interest to all Latinos, including special features that
focus on Latino heritage and achievements as well as the Spanish language
versions of signature series from The History Channel. It is the latest
addition to the brand that also includes The History Channel and History
