Ann Foley, Executive
Vice President, Programming, is responsible for leading the company’s
overall programming strategy and serves as the key liaison between East and
West coast programming departments, as well as serving as a liaison between
Programming and other corporate initiatives. Ms. Foley also oversees
scheduling, analysis, talent relations, and new media for Programming, as
well as all family programming for the company and original program
development on the east coast. In 2003, she expanded her duties and now
heads up the network’s new independent feature division -- Showtime
Independent Films -- which develops and produces low budget movies for
theatrical distribution. Under Ms. Foley’s leadership, in 2004, SHOWTIME
ORIGINAL PICTURES FOR ALL AGES earned 11 Daytime Emmy® nominations. This was
the sixth consecutive year SHOWTIME received more nominations than any other
cable network. Additionally, for the past six years, SHOWTIME has won in the
category Outstanding Children’s Special. Other recognition has included
awards from the Directors Guild of America, the Writers Guild of America,
the Humanitas Prize, and the Peabody Award, to name a few. Ms. Foley, a more
than 20-year veteran of Showtime Networks, previously served as Senior Vice
President, Programming and Creative Operations, where she was responsible
for supervising On-Air Promotion and Production, Family Programming and
Program Scheduling. Before that, Ms. Foley served as Senior Vice President,
Creative Services, and Vice President, Creative Services for the network.
Prior to this, she was Vice President, Programming for THE MOVIE CHANNEL.
Ms. Foley had been with Warner Amex Satellite Entertainment Company (WASEC),
which she joined in l980. Prior to joining WASEC, she served as a columnist
and assistant entertainment editor at Mademoiselle magazine. Ms. Foley is a
magna cum laude graduate of Mount Holyoke College with a B.A. degree in
American Intellectual History and Theater. |
